Expanding Access to Trauma-Informed, Music-Centered Care
Where music therapy meets community, justice, and healing.

About Sonic Bridges
Sonic Bridges, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing healing, resilience, and community connection through trauma-informed music therapy and sound-based interventions.
Rooted in Marin County, California, we serve veterans, justice-impacted individuals, children and adolescents with complex behavioral health needs, and communities facing systemic inequities. Our programs bring structured, evidence-informed creative care into homes, healthcare settings, community centers, and correctional environments.
Our work is grounded in the belief that music is intrinsic to human experience and to the processes through which we heal. As inherently rhythmic, relational, and expressive beings, humans have long used music to regulate emotion, strengthen connection, and give voice to lived experience. When engaged intentionally within trauma-informed practice, music becomes a powerful modality for regulation, resilience, and connection.
Our Vision
We envision a world where access to trauma-informed, music-centered care is not a privilege — but a standard part of how communities heal.
How We Bring This Vision to Life
By integrating music and sound into the fabric of healthcare, community, and justice systems, we expand access to creative, relational care where traditional interventions alone are not enough. Through deep listening and collaborative music-making, we cultivate healing environments that foster regulation, belonging, and collective resilience.

Integrating trauma-informed music therapy and sound-based care into healthcare systems and community settings to support mental health, nervous system regulation, and social connection.
Programs & Initiatives
ReSounding Veterans
Music, identity, and coming home
ReSounding Veterans is a trauma-informed music therapy program that uses songwriting, improvisation, and collaborative recording to help veterans process what they've carried, rebuild connection with others, and rediscover a sense of self — on their own terms, at their own pace.
Echoes Unbound
Creative expression and resilience — inside and beyond incarceration.
Echoes Unbound uses music therapy and collaborative recording to help people reclaim something — their voice, their story, their sense of who they are and who they can become. Through structured creative processes, participants build emotional regulation, develop identity, and prepare for life beyond the walls.
Oreka Sound
Sound-based sessions for nervous system regulation.
When stress, trauma, or overwhelm have pushed the nervous system into overdrive, talk-based approaches can only go so far. Oreka Sound uses trauma-informed sound-based sessions to meet the body where it is — supporting emotional grounding, reducing stress, and restoring a sense of stability from the inside out.
Offered in partnership with healthcare providers, community centers, and public health initiatives.
Home & Community Music Project (HCMP)
Music therapy for youth where daily life happens.
Originally developed within New York City's home-based and community waiver system, this structured 12-week program provides individualized music therapy for children and adolescents with complex behavioral and mental health needs. Delivered in home and community settings, the model emphasizes family involvement, coping skill development, and identity strengthening through collaborative music-making.
Through a six-phase process — orientation, assessment, lyric writing, composition, recording, and closure — participants build coping skills, process emotion, and strengthen identity through collaborative music-making in the settings where daily life unfolds.
Community Health Partnerships & Pilot Programs
Designing music and sound programs for the communities that need them most.
Sonic Bridges works alongside healthcare systems, municipalities, and community organizations to co-design trauma-informed music and sound-based programs built around local needs and local knowledge. Initiatives have included caregiver support groups, aging population engagement, youth resilience programs, and community-based regulation workshops — and we're always open to what comes next.
We bring the clinical expertise and creative vision. Our partners bring deep knowledge of the people they serve. Together, we build something that actually fits.
Evidence-Based Practice
Resources
Sonic Bridges maintains an ongoing commitment to evidence-informed practice. Our programs are grounded in a growing body of peer-reviewed research demonstrating the effectiveness of music therapy and sound-based interventions in supporting emotional regulation, trauma recovery, cognitive engagement, and social connection.
We regularly review and share current research related to music therapy, creative arts therapies, and sound-based approaches in healthcare and community settings. This ensures that our programs remain aligned with emerging knowledge and best practices in the field.
The studies and publications shared here reflect areas of research relevant to the communities we serve, including veterans, individuals impacted by incarceration, and people navigating complex mental health challenges.
Why Your Support Matters
Trauma, isolation, and systemic inequities produce lasting impacts on individuals, families, and communities. Veterans transitioning from service, individuals affected by incarceration, and those navigating complex mental health challenges often lack sustained access to relational, creative, and evidence-based forms of care.
Sonic Bridges delivers structured, trauma-informed music therapy and sound-based interventions that strengthen regulation, restore identity, and rebuild connection. Your support allows us to embed this work directly within healthcare systems, community organizations, correctional settings, and family environments — expanding equitable access to healing where it is most urgently needed.
